Episode 141: Front Office Thunderdome

Leading Off

It’s the home stretch. The Orioles may not be where we had hoped in the standings, but take this opportunity to take in some Orioles Baseball. The final series bring the Blue Jays and Yankees to Camden Yards.  After the usual pleasantries, we start the show with the Drink of the Week.

This Week on the Twitters

Oh, the Drama

Really? Are we really at a point where fans are starting to question Buck Showalter? We can sorta understand questioning Dan Duquette. We talk to Alex Conway (@AlexConwayCC) of Camden Chat, to discuss his recent article about potential plans of succession. Get your tin foil hats out everyone, it’s conspiracy theory time!

Hollow Victories

Remember how awesome it was to eliminate the Red Sox in 2011? Yeah, well after tasting real success in later years, victories like those seem cheap and hollow. Cheap and hollow is, however, all we have to look forward to in 2011. We discuss the merits of celebrating being a footnote of history.

Fantasy Boss is our head-to-head fantasy segment where we pick one stat, and select a player. Feel free to play along, and tweet us your #FantasyBoss pick @birdseyeviewbal.

So far, so good. Scott went double or nothing, betting that both Manny Machado and Jonathan will hit more home runs than Jake’s pick, Chris Davis.
As it currently stands, both of Scott’s players have a single home run, whereas Davis has been kept in the yard.

The gauntlet has been thrown. Who will own it?

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Blowing the Save

bubbles

Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.

have to agree … re: give-a-ways ….. rangers seem to have the right idea … for fan appreciation night , first 30 thousand in attendance , will receive a voucher of a game in 2016 … much better than a bobble-head … and one that more fans can “appreciate” ,
