One of the original staples in Bird’s Eye View shtick was the #BrianRobertsWatch. When that ended, we briefly flirted with the #NickMarkakisWatch. After that, we put the watch away.

But it is time.

This is like “hug watch,” but on a much grander scale. As interest in the Orioles on-field activities wanes (and wane it should), our attention will surely be focused on which team will pick up the talented rental, and how poorly they will fleece the Orioles.

Around the Bases

We may have gone around the saddest bases, but we had a really good time doing so.

First Base

The Change – what will the differences be in going from rooting for a good team to rooting for a bad team? How will the experience be different? Is there anything to look forward to?

Second Base

Is Dylan Bundy Broken?

We’ve seen good starts. We’ve seen bad starts. We’ve seen a lot of home runs. What is going on with Dylan Bundy, and can we hope for an improvement.

Third Base

Nobody puts baby in a corner. What is the deal with the Caleb Joseph demotion? Does this make any sense, or is this re-arranging the deck chairs on the SS Minnow.

Home Plate

How bad can it get for Chris Davis? When do the Orioles admit that they should cut bait… or should they?

Also, consider this: Chris Davis may write himself into the history books. Wouldn’t that be fun?

Fantasy Boss

Another razor-thin victory, as the Orioles make it difficult to expect there will be baseball events to count for Fantasy Boss. This week, we picked DONGS. Scott won with a dominating ONE dong by Jonathan Schoop, against Trey Mancini’s zero.

This draws us into the saddest tie, at 4-4.

Jake may be somewhat affected by all this losing, because he’s gone to another “creative” Fantasy Boss contest. This week, Jake recommended that each of the guys create a dumb “Either/Or” category, and then select an outcome. Whoever guesses correctly (on his own category) will win. A tie will result in both clicking, or neither.

Scott’s offering: Will there be more Orioles runs in the Rays series, or Chris Davis strikeouts over the course of the entire week?

Scott went with strikeouts.

Jake’s offering: Will there be more Orioles hits or MLB stolen bases over the next week?

Jake went with MLB stolen bases.
