Leading Off
The 2026 season is almost over… what do we have to show for ourselves?
Around the Bases

First Base: We Don’t Really Have Hope… right?
Here on the podcast, we put a fork in this season a long time ago. The O’s made a fun run in August, but have been largely uninspiring since then. Even the underwhelming nature of the rest of the AL hasn’t made the quest for the lowered bar of a third wild card spot any more attainable…
So basically, we’re saying if your hopes are up enough to be let down, that’s on you.
Second Base: Palate Cleanser
Let’s talk about Pete Alonso. Pete hit his 300th home run in true “how can you not be romantic about baseball?” fashion – in the ballpark where he played the first part of his career.
Not only was Pete fun to watch that night, but he has been a pleasure to watch all season (well, if you ignore the first few weeks of the season…)
Third Base: The Leash
How long is the leash for Orioles’ leadership at multiple levels? What would it take for some folks to be fired, or worse… reviled?
Home Plate: To MLB, Or Not to MLB?
A work stoppage is coming. How long might it go on, and how will that affect the Orioles’ approach to the offseason.
More importantly, how many built in excuses will it provide to not try in the offseason?
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Blowing the Save

Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
