Leading Off
The Orioles are definitely playing better baseball – but can they keep it up long enough to overcome their slow start?
Around the Bases

First Base: A New Step in the Cycle
Somewhere between “we are so back” and “I hate this team” is the place the Orioles have been playing for the past couple of weeks. We have been looking for a stabilization in the season for… well… the entire season, and this may just be it. The Orioles played well, and are hanging around contention.
Second Base: Trouble in Paradise?
Something is going on with Samuel Basallo, but we have no idea what. We’re not trying to make this some big juicy story – maybe it’s a total nothingburger. But Albernaz’s comments do not add up, and Basallo’s time out of the lineup and off the field could not come at a worse time.

Blowing the Save

Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
