Episode 299: Tomorrow Never Knows

Leading Off

Hi. We hope this episode finds you well – in good health and good spirits.

We’re getting close to baseball maybe being a thing. And we’ll take it! This one also features Jake offering the Orioles/MASN too many “good” ideas. It also features Scott taking a very long walk.

Hurry back, baseball. We miss you.

This Week on the Twitters

Here’s what’s going on in the world of Orioles Baseball, in 280 characters, or fewer:

What Is Even Happening?

It’s time for another trip Around the Bases. Now that we’re getting closer to real baseball being played, it’s getting easier to think of Orioles-related stuff to discuss. Progress!

First Base

John Means and the Rotation (the worst Prince cover band ever?)

Second Base

Buying the bats? Or conversely, A House on Puig Corner

Third Base

Lack of Coverage

Home Plate

How does one celebrate Opening Day in a responsible way, in 2020?

What’s in a Name?

The football team down the road is going through something of an identity crisis. And before you think we’re being snarky about it, we are very empathetic to those in the fan base who are bummed about the identity of their team being changed in an instant. Right or wrong (uh, right, bee-tee-dubs), it’s gotta be weird.

That leads us to wonder what a suitable identity for the Orioles would be, if they were forced to rebrand for some reason.

We make very terrible suggestions, and ask you to follow suit. Tweet it to us @birdseyeviewbal.

Blowing the Save

Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
