Episode 300: Unspectacular

Leading Off

Hi. We hope this episode finds you well – in good health and good spirits.

We record our 300th episode o Bird’s Eye View, and take a look back at what we’ve put you through over the last eight (plus) years.

This show is… experience. We realize it’s not for everyone. But we love making it, and we have enjoyed connecting with so many of you out there in Birdland.

In lieu of putting together a 300th spectacular, we opted for just the opposite. Somehow… it just felt more appropriate. Someday, when the world opens back up, we’ll find some way to celebrate. We’ll put an event together, and ask you to join us to celebrate this stupid little project of ours.

In the meantime, please excuse us for two things:

  1. Going over the top on navel gazing
  2. Leaving out the many, many people who have made this show possible, and fun to produce

Hurry back, baseball. We miss you.

This Week on the Twitters

Here’s what’s going on in the world of Orioles Baseball, in 280 characters, or fewer:

Opening Too Soon

Opening Night is right around the corner, and could not come at a better time. Is there a time in history when we have needed three hours of escapism?

That means that we’ll have real baseball to discuss. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly will make its triumphant return to the show.

We’re looking forward to Opening Night starter Tommy Milone presiding over the Orioles’ Dongs After Dark fueled victory on July 24th.

Hahaha. This season is going to be ridiculous. But hey – it’s better than nothing, right?

Blowing the Save

Most podcasts try to end on a high note – the perfect coda to a quality program. That’s just not our style. Each week, we’ll end on a weak note, blowing the save with an item that didn’t quite fit into the episode, or something they simply need to get off their chests. It’s our version of taking the ball and pulling a Kevin Gregg.
