Joe Angel was in rare form in the Orioles’ get away game today’s in St. Petersburg, Florida. It started in the first when Angel was vocal about the “unusual” strike zone Kevin Gausman faced, and only got better from there.
In the 8th inning, Nelson Cruz hit a ball off the C-Ring in left field. It was a massive home run that required a massive home run call. As he had done all game, Joe Angel came though:
I want to hear this call again. And again. And again. If the Orioles score, I want Grandma to be holding open the door. It’s no “ain’t the beer cold.”
But it’s still pretty good.
Open the door, Grandma – I’m getting OUTTA HERE!
